Quite possibly our favourite season, fresh autumnal air, perfect for walking and cycling. The mornings are crisp however the days can reach 30C, the earth retaining its heat from the summer. Chestnut festivals are abound and cepes grow all around, including in our field.

Autumnal sunshine

Autumn is a wonderful time to visit, with crisp sunshine to wake up to, perfect for a brisk walk to Lunac for fresh baguette. The temperature gets up to 30c in September and 26c in October.

Autumn is chestnut season and the region hosts a number of chestnut festivals, one of the largest is 15 minutes away in Laguepie, you won't believe the local passion for chestnuts and cider!

Marché | Markets

Markets aren't just for tourists, the summer may be over but the markets are still a focal point for local towns and villages.

Terre des champignons

As a new season arrives so does a new source of food. This is an area that is well know for it's mushrooms, visit any market and you'll have plenty to chose from, from chanterelles and cèpes. If you're lucky you may even source cèpes in the field at La Peyrière.

Randonnée | Hiking

The terrain around La Peyriere makes it perfect for hiking and walking. There are a huge range of marked walking trails from the house, or from Bor et Bar and Najac. Organised randonnées take place every week nearby, which we can arrange for you.

The weather makes this the perfect time to explore the many marked trails in the area, with mountain bike hire available and 25 trails to choose from you won't be spoilt for choice!
